Dear Metaversalists,
Hope you are staying warm in this artic weather, and you will enjoy our new creative experiment called Metaversal IRL.
But, before the excitement unfolds, mark your calendars for next Monday at 1 PM. Why? Because we've got the sensational Kaloh gracing our Creator’s Monday show on X.
Reminder set? Okay, let’s roll.
Metaversal IRL is a project designed to help Web 2.0 artists take their work to web3. Our vision is to make web3 more inclusive and accessible, enabling creators to unlock direct connections with their audiences while retaining ownership of their work. We’re proud to announce our first partnership with the artistic duo MooknTaka, a Brooklyn-based husband-and-wife team that makes art designed to encourage play and connection. MooknTaka’s one-of-a-kind works employ bold colors, geometric shapes, and oodles of whimsy to create interactive works, large and small. We’ve partnered with them to create five phygital pieces — physical artworks with digital on-chain counterparts. The works will be available to purchase next month, so keep an eye on our social channels for more details.
We can’t wait to share them with you!
Here's our usual quick tech&art news roundup (promise, it's Yuga-Saltburn-drama free):
DATALAND is partnering with Refik Anadol Studio to pioneer the Large Nature Model, the world’s inaugural open-source, generative AI model exclusively dedicated to nature. This groundbreaking initiative is trained on an ethically collected dataset, making it the most extensive of its kind.
Raise your virtual glass to Glaze, the superhero of the art world, disrupting style mimicry and earning a "Special Mention" in the TIME Best Inventions of 2023. Because when robots try to imitate artists, Glaze steps in like an AI bouncer saying, "Sorry, find your style and be original please".
You probably heard it and yes, Marina Abramović has a skincare brand. Who wants to bet this a performance in perfect Ulman style?
The shift from utility to equity tokens in Web3 is like blockchain saying, "Why just be a token when you can own a piece of the crypto pie?" It's the democratization of blockchain – now everyone gets a slice.
Instagram’s co-founders are shutting down their Artifact news app. Just under a year after its launch.
In case you missed it, Benedict Evans every year produces a big presentation exploring macro and strategic trends in the tech industry.
Unsure if your photo is Insta-worthy? Let this BOT be the Simon Cowell of your digital snapshots.
As we bid adieu to Pitchfork, it's like the end of an era. Who knew music journalism could merge with GQ? It's the literary equivalent of a rock band going acoustic.
The David Zwirner podcast is the auditory elixir for your creativity.
